Joel Davidson & Carson Champion Named Mr. and Miss Springwood High School


Last week, Springwood Seniors Joel Davidson & Carson Champion were selected as this year's Mr. and Miss SHS. The distinction of Mr. and Miss SHS is a Wildcat tradition and is a recognition received annually by one male and one female student who is a member of the senior class. They are selected by the senior class and faculty and staff. The following attributes are considered in the selection process:

1. Character - Positive role model, kind, friendly
2. Attitude – Goal-oriented, enthusiastic, respectful of school policies
3. Trustworthy – Maintains high integrity
4. Behavior & Conduct – Exemplary, free of major discipline infractions
5. Academics – Maintains (at minimum) a 3.0 GPA
6. Leadership – Willing and able to lead others by taking initiative
7. School spirit – Participates in extra-curricular activities
8. Involved – at Springwood in multiple ways (clubs, sports, and service)
9. Motivated – To be successful
10. Heart for Community Service – Volunteers' time and service

Valley High School ad ministration and counseling staff held interviews for the prestigious titles of Mr. & Miss VHS last week as twelve seniors were nominated by their teachers to represent Valley High School as Mr. & Miss VHS. The 2023 Mr. & Miss VHS will be named at the Miss Vallerata pageant in the spring. Candidates for the prestigious crown are: Boys - Mason Turnham, Trevor Rudd, Caleb Poe, Matthew Bunn, Quendarius Story, and Jamarious Martin Girls - Treanna Bridges, Kendall Godfrey, Paola Gonzalez, Darcee Wright, Larissa Brown, and Ciara Crim

Lanett Council Recognizes 2023 Lanett & Springwood Graduates

On Monday, the Lanett Council recognized this year's Lanett and Springwood graduates and those that exhibited outstanding achievements in the classroom. From Lanett High School, the council recognized Valedictorian and Mr. Lanett High Mr. Jaelin Truitt, Salutatorian Miss Nautica Billingslea, and Miss Lanett High School Jakiya Little. Upon graduation, Truitt will attend CU Berkley and study Computer Science. As for Billingslea, and Little, both will be attending UAB and studying nursing. From Springwood, the council recognized Valedictorian, and Mr. Springwood Joel Davidson, Miss Springwood Carson Champion, and Salutatorian Chase Carithers. Upon graduation, Davidson will be attending Auburn University where he will study mechanical engineering. Champion will be attending the University of Alabama where she will study exercise science. Carithers was unable to attend. Congratulations graduates.

128 Valley High Seniors Graduate

  As cloudy and overcast skies hovered over Ram stadium on Monday, 128 Valley High School Seniors walked across the stage to receive their diploma as family and friends cheered on.  The 2023 Ram class has   persevered through COVID-19, and the effects of it, yet still managed to succeed.  Check out the Valley Page for more pictures from Valley High's Graduation Ceremony.
