CCSD Names Tiffany Dean-Johnson as New Director of Federal Programs

The Chambers County School District is pleased to announce the hiring of Mrs. Tiffany Dean-Johnson as the system’s new Director of Federal Programs. Mrs. Dean-Johnson succeeds Mrs. LaKeyda Davis who will be retiring on June 30th to relocate with family to Georgia. Mrs. Davis will begin working with the Cobb County School System for the 2024-25 school year.

Mrs. Davis submitted her retirement intentions last month after ten years of service with the Chambers County School District as a former principal at Eastside Elementary and Federal Programs Director with the Board of Education. Mrs. Davis will officially finish up her final day on the job on Thursday, June 27th with the CCSD.
Mrs. Dean-Johnson is an experienced lifetime educator with 32 plus years of experience having recently retired from public education in Georgia in 2022. She has spent the last two years working as an educator in Tallahassee, Florida. Mrs. Dean-Johnson’s experience and success working in Federal programs made her a unanimous recommendation by the committee to be the district’s next choice for Director of Federal Programs.
Mrs. Dean Johnson noted that she was honored to have the opportunity to relocate to Chambers County to serve as the district’s next Director of Federal Programs. She has family nearby in Columbus, GA which makes the move all the more exciting for her. Chambers County Schools Superintendent, Dr. Casey Chambley noted that the CCSD was fortunate to hire Mrs. Dean Johnson with her vast experience working with Federal Programs and grant writing. Dr. Chambley added that her references noted “Mrs. Dean Johnson is committed to promoting student achievement and works well as part of a team.”
Before joining the CCSD for the 2024-25 school year, Mrs. Dean Johnson completed two years working for Tallahassee Classical School in Florida. The bulk of her experience in the field of education included 30 years in five different districts across the state of Georgia. Mrs. Dean-Johnson gained experience over that time as a teacher, Assistant Principal, District Early Childhood Director, Media Specialist, and Grant Administrator for Federal and State Preschool implementation. Mrs. Dean-Johnson retired as an educator from the state of Georgia in 2022 with 30 years of experience. Her work experience as an educator included Muscogee County Schools, Savannah Chatham School System, DeKalb County Schools, Putnam County Schools, and Randolph County Schools all in Georgia.
Mrs. Dean-Johnson earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Florida A&M University in 1992, her Master’s degree from Troy University in 1994, and her Educational Specialist, in Educational Leadership from Troy University in 1999. She also added a Master’s degree for a Media SpecialistSpecialists in 1999 from the University of West Georgia. She has a successful history of implementing state and Federal standards while ensuring that programs under her supervision remain compliant.
Her son, Carlin Johnson resides in Columbus, GA, and, is employed as an IT Analyst at Pharmavite in Opelika, AL. Her Sister, Sharra Wimberl,y, and her family also reside in nearby Columbus, GA. The Chambers County School District is fortunate to have an experienced and motivated educator such as Mrs. Tiffany Dean-Johnson joining our team to take on the challenge as our new Director of Federal Programs!
